I didn’t know what to expect because the price is inexpensive. I needed a 12 volt trolling motor for a 14 foot Jon boat and researched quite a few, before settling on this one. It took me a minute to get the handle attached to the motor but it wasn’t that complicated. It has forward and reverse and different speeds on both. It doesn’t seam to use nearly as much power and I used it off and on all day for several days ; without recharging the battery. All in all; I happy with it
