I will recommend this to anyone experiencing hand/wrist/forearm pain from hours at the computer. I have used mine for many years, and I am ordering a new one since the pads started to fail. I originally found this product as I was beginning to get alternating pain and numbness/weakness in my hand and wrist from long hours doing graphic design, foreboding carpal tunnel injury. It provided just the right support and mousing mobility without putting any pressure on the carpal tunnel area of the wrist, offering immediately noticeable relief --and I'm certain it prevented injury.Better than any wrist rest because it isn't a wrist rest at all. It's a hand rest which ensures your wrist stays at an optimal angle while using your mouse but it glides along with the mouse, thus preserving a full range of motion for the mouse unlike the usual wrist restsThe tether which you have to glue on is an imperfect solution and, as I mentioned, the pads eventually gave out, so it is not a flawless design but its basic function for carpal tunnel stress relief proved excellent in my case. That's why 4/5 stars instead of 5/5.Well, first thing I should have noticed is that the 2 reviews of this product were from 3 and 4 years ago, and there are no current reviews in the last year or so. I usually look to make sure there are current reviews of the product, but to be honest with you, when I saw that it was by Ergoguys, I thought it must be good, right? The next thing I should have questioned was the instructions to superglue a plastic piece attached to the mousebean to my mouse and then wait several hours before using. I patiently waited 4 hours and went to use my mouse and the glued piece fell off. Also, my mouse is now ruined with superglue all over the back of it. The mousebean itself is very small and of hard plastic. There is not enough cushion on either side of the mousebean to do much of anything about keeping your wrist from resting on the mouse pad. Does not work for me at all. It might work for very small people or teenagers or kids. I am on the computer 8-10 hours a day and was really hoping this product would be as good as advertised. I would have given zero stars except I realize these guys are trying to solve a major problem but this product still needs some work. The mousebean hand rest is exactly as described, and is well designed for its purpose. I prefer to have my wrist not quite horizontal and hence found the mousebean slightly uncomfortable because it is intended for a horizontal wrist position. The only other point to note is when connecting the mousebean to your mouse, you have to provide your own glue. Not a big issue, celotape worked fine for me, just something you should be aware of.I started a job 3 years ago and fairly shortly into it I started to develop discomfort in my wrist. A coworker had a mousebean and encouraged me to give it a try. Once it arrived and I started using it my symptoms started clearing up real fast and haven't had any issues in the years that I've used it. There are a couple low star reviews, and I want to comment on their concerns.1. I wouldn't suggest using this in addition to a wrist guard. This is designed for a bare hand to use. I don't know if this is a good solution if you have severe symptoms. I've only had minor symptoms.2. You can attach the mouse bean to the mouse but I never did and really like it. I have a hard surfaced desk and my hand can easily slide from my mouse to my keyboard and back again without any issue. This product works because it creates and air pocket for your carpel tunnel to rest in. The discomfort of CTS is caused by hard surfaces pressing against this area. By sliding my hand with the bean across my desk my CT is never resting on the desk.Over the years the plastic has started to wear down, although I imagine it can go another 5 years before I need to replace it.I purchased this because I was having wrist issues at work (federal employee behind computer all day). I have used it for well over a year now and can say that without this device I can't even use the mouse at work. I have to have it. I stopped using the tether as well after a week. It would not stay attached. I find it better without it. I swivel and move my hand back and forth on the pad and the tether would just restrict that movement. The pain I had on my wrist has completely disappeared and I have no more issues with that pain right on my middle wrist that used to rest on the desk. I had a regular writ rest, but it was not mobile enough. This solved the problem. It does take some getting used to, but once it was part of my routing, I loved it. Amazon says they are discontinued by the manufacturer. They are not. Do a search on Google and you can find it for about $20 with shipping included.Wrist guards were too firm and it was rather awkward to use. If you don't position correctly, each time, you have to keep repositioning or it bothers wrist, which is REALLY irritating after a while.
